This project involved securing planning permission for two contemporary extensions to a ground floor apartment located in the heart of Notting Hill, within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The design (by JGraham Design) enhances the spatial flow of the apartment, introducing modern architecture that respects the character of the surrounding Conservation area.

The proposal was approved in just four weeks under RBKC’s fast-track planning service. Achieving this swift outcome required a highly strategic approach, with careful navigation of the potential planning constraints, including proximity to protected trees, flood risk considerations and the design sensitivities of the Conservation Area.

Through early engagement, thorough preparation and clear communication, the project did not receive any objections from its many neighbours. The client was delighted with both the speed and outcome of the application.
