Great Staughton, Huntingdonshire District Council
Following the refusal of a previous scheme by another team, we were appointed to lead a new planning and heritage strategy for substantial works to a Grade II Listed property in Huntingdonshire. The brief included securing both Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for carefully designed front, rear, and side extensions.
The scheme presented multiple planning challenges, including the need to address tree constraints, heritage sensitivities and environmental health concerns. In addition, the proposal initially attracted an objection from a neighbour which required a tactful and evidence-led approach to resolve.
Working with the wider consultancy team (including Binney & Sims Architects and Heritage Collective) we successfully navigated the application through planning, and the scheme was approved within 8 weeks. The outcome marked a significant turnaround from the previously refused application, and the client was delighted with the result.
