Chelsea, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

Working together with Dyer Grimes Architects, The Plannery obtained Planning Permission for a reimagined rear facade scheme. The property is located within a Conservation Area in Chelsea. The proposal sought to deliver both aesthetic cohesion and functional enhancement, carefully balancing restoration with modern interventions.

The proposed works includes for a second-floor level timber-framed conservatory, new black timber frames, new crittal style glass to the ground floor, a new staircase and the restoration of the brickwork to the rear elevation.

Importantly, the approval was granted without any pre-commencement conditions, enabling the client to proceed directly to the construction phase. The redesign transforms the rear elevation into a far more attractive and cohesive elevation. The client is thrilled with the outcome, and the team looks forward to seeing this vision realised on site.
